The BGAN Serial Adaptor provides a serial to IP converter for a legacy data terminal as well as intelligent control and management of the IP connection provided by a BGAN terminal. This provides a small, light weight and cost effective upgrade path from older Mini-M and similar technologies to the latest and most efficient BGAN IP services without having to incur the expense and possible technical risk of replace existing data loggers or data terminal currently in the field that do not natively support an IP interface.

The Satcom Gadgets BGAN Serial Adaptor interprets dialling commands via it's RS232C serial interface from the legacy data logging or communications device, and intelligently uses these commands to control and manage service connectivity of a directly connected BGAN terminal. Launchpad functionality is NOT required by the data terminal – this intelligence is built into the Satcom Gadgets BGAN Serial Adaptor
